Training courses are available to all UT employees on a first-come, first-served basis. We publish course offerings twice a year. Course availability and schedules sometimes change due to unforeseen circumstances.

Course Locations

Most of our courses are held at the UT Conference Center Building in Downtown Knoxville . The KAT Trolley (Vol Line) stops in front of this building on Locust Street every 10 minutes from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. If driving, please park in the UT parking garage on Locust Street between Clinch and Union Avenues. When attending one of our training courses, you will be given a voucher for your parking.

Some courses have fees to cover the cost of materials, speakers, facilities or equipment. These fees are noted when participants register, and will be charged directly to their departments through internal transfer after each course or event.

Cancellation Policy: 10 Business Days

The entire fee will be charged for for-fee training, seminar, or conference cancellations made less than 10 business days before the start of the event. The entire fee will be charged for any registered participant who does not show up for his or her course or event. Departments may, after contacting our office, send a substitute participant if the registered participant is unable to attend.

Reminders

Registered participants will receive a reminder email the week prior to the training course for which they are registered. This reminder is a courtesy. Once you register, please consider yourself committed to the class and make yourself aware of our cancellation policy. We appreciate early notice if you will be unable to attend; this allows us to plan for accurate class size or to offer a spot to someone on the waiting list.

Waiting Lists

When registration for a course is full, a waiting list will be created automatically in the learning management system. Employees on the waiting list will receive an email notifying them if a spot becomes available. Employees have 24 hours to take the open seat before the system moves to the next person on the waiting list.
