Exam Preparation Resources
You can learn more about the exam and preparation resources on the IAAP website. In order to take the exam, interested employees must register and pay for the exam directly through IAAP. The university does not handle registration or payment for the exam. You can find certification info on the IAAP site.
Exam Fee
The UT Career Development Fund may reimburse up to $150 of the CAP exam fee. The fund is available to non-exempt UT employees only. Applications for the fund must be submitted at least three weeks in advance of the exam date. Reimbursements can only be made to individuals, as UT departments are not permitted to pay for employee certification exams such as the CAP. You are only reimbursed one time during your employment at UT for the CAP, CPA, or other similar exams.

UT policy HR0465, Salary Increase for Passing the Certified Administrative Professional Exam, outlines provisions for non-exempt employees who perform clerical-secretarial and clerical-management duties to earn a 9% salary increase upon passing the Certified Administrative Professionals (CAP) exam.
