The University of Tennessee participates in the state of Tennessee group health insurance plan. At the Jan. 24 meeting, the State Insurance Committee, which governs the plan, approved a medical premium holiday for May 2020. As a result of this decision, the medical portion of your group insurance premium will not be deducted from your May paycheck. This will not affect your insurance coverage.
The savings for the month can range from $60 to $432 less taxes, depending on the plan. The premium for the life insurance coverage included in the basic health plan and premiums related to any other optional health plan will be deducted from your paycheck.
