Library Associate I
Job Summary
Performs routine library tasks to ensure the smooth operation of a library unit to include ordering, receiving, cataloging, filing, circulating, and maintaining library materials.
Job Functions
- Organizes and directs activity involved in the storage, loan and return of library materials; provides instruction and assistance to patrons in the use of library materials and facilities; interprets library policies and procedures.
- Assists in determining binding requirements and processing of materials in English and foreign languages; performs bibliographical searching as required.
- Makes work assignments for designated personnel; reviews completed work for accuracy and adherence to instructions; provides training, technical assistance, and guidance to designated personnel.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High school degree and one to two years library experience.
