Eligible employees enjoy 13 paid holidays and closings and accrue vacation and sick days each year. Bereavement, court, military and personal leave also are available.
All regular UT employees in active pay status qualify for holiday pay for the following eight days:
- New Year’s Day
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- Friday before Easter
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day.
In addition to holidays, five days are designated as paid administrative closings, such as the Friday after Thanksgiving and during the week of Christmas.ADMINISTRATIVE CLOSINGS POLICY
Annual Leave (Vacation)
Eligible regular employees earn between eight and 16 hours of annual leave a month and can accrue between 240 and 336 hours before excess hours roll to sick leave, depending on job type, percent of time worked and years of service.
