Performs specialized and highly skilled duties involved in the performance of a skilled craft.

Job Functions

  • Performs specialized and skilled craft work in cabinetry, carpentry, electrical, estimating, high voltage electrical, machining, maintenance, plumbing, refrigeration and air conditioning, sheet metal, steam plant, steam fitting, and welding areas.
  • Performs periodic skilled maintenance functions in the above areas.
  • Utilizes specifications and manuals to perform above tasks.
  • Checks completed work for adherence to designated specifications.
  • Maintains records and reports on repairs or servicing.
  • Provides technical guidance and direction to designated personnel.
  • Assists in estimating amount of material and type equipment and supplies required.
  • Coordinates work to be performed in construction and renovation of facilities and equipment.
  • Calibrates instruments and equipment to coincide with established standards.
  • Operates equipment required to perform maintenance functions.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

High school degree and six years experience in field or completion of trade school or apprenticeship plus three years of experience. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
