One of the most frequent questions that I’m asked in my administrative capacity by individuals outside of the University of Tennessee is, “What do you like most about working at UT?” My response always includes something about the amazing people who work here and serving within an organization where there is always something meaningful to do and no two days are ever alike. And, to top it off, I don’t ever hesitate to brag about all of the great benefits that UT employees enjoy.
Our fall 2019 issue of For Your Benefit touches each of these areas, sharing information about new employees who have joined the UT team, highlighting extraordinary events and initiatives that are happening at our UT campuses and institutes and providing our annual overview of benefits changes and updates that are important to you and your family.

As we finalize our search for a new chief human resource officer (CHRO)* and welcome a new face to greet you in these newsletters, it has been a pleasure to serve you and all our employees over the last 18 months as a System-wide champion for the UT Office of Human Resources. The opportunity to work more closely with our campus and institute HR teams has been a rewarding experience, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve in this role. However, it is time for me to venture on to my life’s next great experience. I have cherished my time here with the System, and I know this University will continue to make a lasting impact across our state and country.
