From volleyball team banquets to Lions Club dinners, Carole Thomas’ goal is to make it easy for her community to come together.

As manager of UT Space Institute’s dining hall, known around town as “The View,” Thomas serves the Tullahoma community by offering superb food and service that have people from all over driving out of their way for lunch and dinner.

“We’re very proud of our dining hall, and we don’t just consider it a cafeteria, it’s much more than that,” she said.

Thomas and her staff also pride themselves on being a resource for the community to host local gatherings. Community members are constantly requesting to use the facility for Army ROTC dinners, local retirement club celebrations and to commemorate other special occasions. “We have a good team that is passionate about providing a good service, a quality service and you can tell by meeting the staff,” she said.

Thomas has been with the UT Space Institute for 26 years, holding various positions within the University, but has found her home as manager of the dining hall. Since taking over two years ago, she has brought a spark back into The View, and the people around her have responded.
