Debbie Williams-Boyd has worked for UT Martin for 30 years and fully appreciates the benefits that she receives as an employee.
Williams-Boyd, a senior audit clerk in UT Martin’s Business Affairs Office, has used the Educational Assistance (Student Fee Discount) for Spouses and Children benefit to help her children.
All three of her children have used fee waivers to assist with their undergraduate tuition costs. Two of them have continued their education and have received MBAs from UT Martin, and her youngest is currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance.
Having helpful employee benefits is just an added bonus for Williams-Boyd, who loves her job and has a deep appreciation for the university. With the Educational Assistance benefit, children of employees receive a discount when attending any campus in the UT system as an undergraduate student, which saves parents a large amount of money.
“The fee waivers benefited me greatly income wise and have also relieved undue pressure on my children as they worked toward achieving their education,” Williams-Boyd said. “This benefit is so important because it encourages our children to attend schools in Tennessee, and it is a help in a time of need. It is definitely an added benefit besides working with a great group of caring people.”
