Accounting Assistant III
Performs semi-routine accounting activities in the maintenance of accounting, financial, and payroll records.
Performs semi-routine accounting activities in the maintenance of accounting, financial, and payroll records according to established practices and procedures. Works toward assigned objectives.
Makes decisions when general instructions, established methods and defined precedents indicate action to be taken. Some important questions outside the normal policies and procedures are referred to the supervisor.
Compiles budgetary and financial information.
Advises others concerning records, reports, policies, and procedures.
Reviews and participates in the preparation of purchase requisitions; processes and audits routine vouchers, accounting documents, and personnel forms.
Posts to journals, ledgers, or unit records using standardized routines or system- wide electronic system.
May supervise designated personnel; performs the same or closely related work as those supervised.
Performs other related duties as required.
High school degree with two-three years accounting experience. Two years experience equates to one year of post-high school education.
