Responsible for providing specialized support to and developing, coordinating and overseeing agricultural-based programs which may be focused on educational and outreach programs or entrepreneurial and production operations. This role may contribute to research operations, however it is not focused on research, rather on the coordination of programs. Specialized and progressively responsible experience is required as the level increases.

Level Descriptions

Agricultural and Natural Resources Specialist 1

  • Provides specialized technical support for an agricultural or natural resource unit distinguished by specialized knowledge and skills.
  • Implements and coordinates programs.
  • Establishes and maintains standards for the assigned area.
  • Plans and executes special events.
  • Supervises personnel.

 

Education/Experience

Typically requires an associate’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

 

Certification/License

Relevant certification/license may be preferred.

Agricultural and Natural Resources Specialist 2

  • Provides professional specialized support for an agricultural or natural resources area.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates programs including educational, outreach, and conservation.
  • Develops and implements best practices.
  • Coordinates compliance.
  • Plans and executes special projects.
  • Provides work direction to personnel.
  • Provides data analysis and program assessment.

 

Education/Experience

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

 

Certification/License

Relevant certification/license may be preferred.
